BTCC launches 2025 season at Donington Park with 24-car entry list

The 2025 British Touring Car Championship season has launched at Donington Park today (April 15) with the UK’s biggest motorsport series confirming a stellar 24-car grid for the new campaign.

Despite all driver announcements being made across the recent weeks and months, series organisers have published the official 2025 entry list at the annual curtain-raiser event in Leicestershire.

Consistency remains key for the BTCC’s leading lights with last year’s top-three contenders all remaining with the same respective outfits that they finished last season with.

Reigning champion Jake Hill spearheads West Surrey Racing’s charge with the number one adorning his BMW 330i M Sport, and he’s joined at the multiple champions by Daryl Deleon, Aiden Moffat and Charles Rainford.

Last year’s runner-up Tom Ingram is back behind the wheel of the EXCELR8 Hyundai i30 N and he will team with the experienced Tom Chilton. Also joining the squad is race-winner Adam Morgan and fan favourite Michael Crees, although Senna Proctor will take on driving duties for the latter from Croft onwards.

At Alliance Racing, Ash Sutton’s pursuit of a record-breaking fifth title will be one of many storylines over the course of the season and with Colin Turkington taking a sabbatical from the championship, Sutton is the only driver that can achieve such a feat on the grid this year.

The Ford outfit will have strength in numbers when it comes to battling towards the front of the field too as Dan Cammish, Dan Rowbottom and Sam Osborne complete what is an unchanged line-up for the defending Teams’ champions.

It’s all change at Speedworks Motorsport with three-time champion Gordon Shedden making a welcome return to the series in the Toyota Corolla. The Scotsman is joined at TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK by Aron Taylor-Smith, Ronan Pearson and rookie James Dorlin.

Independent honours are set to be hotly contested this year with former two-time champions One Motorsport making a triumphant return to the series after pausing their BTCC programme last year.

Josh Cook – who will be one to watch in the race for the overall title – has re-joined the Honda Civic Type R squad and he will have Stephen Jelley alongside him.

Last year’s champions Power Maxed Racing are back with one car for Mikey Doble while Restart Racing remains at two, albeit with brand-new Hyundai i30 Fastback N machines for Chris Smiley and Daniel Lloyd.

Completing this year’s entry list is Un-Limited Motorsport, which has grown from one to three cars over the winter. Dexter Patterson, Max Hall and Nicolas Hamilton will be driving the team’s trio of Cupra Leons.
