Robert Dahlgren eyes TCR switch for 2025
Multiple STCC champion Robert Dahlgren has been left without a contract for the first time since 1999 ahead of the upcoming season, following the postponement of the STCC season and subsequent closure of PWR Racing.
But the Swede still says he is keen to continue racing.
“I still feel that I have more to give and I have prepared myself ahead of the 2025 season as usual, despite the unfortunate end to my STCC drive,” said Dahlgren to TouringCarTimes.
The four-time Scandinavian champion finished fourth overall in the 2024 STCC season and was the sole driver outside of the Tesla team Brink Motorsport who managed to claim a victory.
The former V8 Supercars driver is instead eying a possible return to TCR in 2025.
“I’m not looking to drive for the sake of just driving, I want to be part of a team that can fight for top positions and where I feel that I can make an actual contribution with my experience,” said Dahlgren.
“We were ultra competitive in 2022 which was the last STCC season with TCR and I’m confident that all those years of intense development and learnings would be competitive today as well.”
Dahlgren won the last two TCR titles of the STCC TCR Scandinavia in 2021 and 2022, driving a Cupra León Competición for PWR Racing.
The Swede has not specified which series he is eying for 2025, but confirms that he has got ongoing discussions.
“I’ve had a couple of discussions and we will see where that will lead,” said Dahlgren.
