Adam Shepherd beats Callum Newsham to TCR UK season opener pole

Adam Shepherd (Cupra) claimed the first TCR UK pole position of the 2025 season opener at Donington Park, beating Callum Newsham (Hyundai) by 0.166 seconds.

Alistair Camp made it two Hyundai i30 N TCRs in the top three, just over three tenths from pole.

Sam Laidlaw took his Cupra León VZ TCR to fourth place, just 0.060 seconds slower than Camp, with rival Cupra driver Brad Hutchison in fifth, seven tenths from pole.

Area Motorsport driver Steve Laidlaw was sixth fastest, just five hundredths behind Hutchison.

Finn Leslie (Hyundai) and Will Beech (Cupra) rounded off the top eight, 1.1 and 1.9 seconds from the top time respectively.

A field of 15 cars took part in the session and were covered by 11 seconds, while championship promototer and Lynk & Co driver Stewart Lines failed to take part in the session due to a technical issue.

The first race of the weekend starts at 14:15 local time/15:15 CET.
