Power Maxed Racing confirms BTCC entry for 2025 campaign

Power Maxed Racing has confirmed that it will take its place on the British Touring Car Championship grid in 2025, initially with a one-car entry.

The future of last year’s Independent Teams’ champions had been in jeopardy following the recent withdrawal of its main sponsor Evans Halshaw, which is a division of Pendragon Management Services.

However a title sponsorship deal has been struck with Motor Parts Direct which will see the team run under the Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing banner for 2025.

Despite the team outlining one entry as it stands, PMR is working tirelessly to attract and present additional automotive brand names to its successful BTCC portfolio, which will hopefully help cement a two-car programme.

An announcement surrounding the driver is set to follow on Wednesday however it is already confirmed that Aron Taylor-Smith won’t return to the team, having putting pen-to-paper on a deal to join Speedworks Motorsport.

Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing Team Principal, said: ““This is something that I have tried to make happen for a number of years, therefore I’m incredibly happy that it is now going to become reality.

“I know Daren, Kevin and many of the team across Motor Parts Direct as I have worked with them for years, so it’s really exciting to be starting this journey with such a strong relationship already established.

“As a race team we are looking forward to making sure that their experience of the BTCC is a fantastic one and look forward to helping them elevate their brand even further.”
