Michael Markussen switches from Cupra to Honda

Michael Markussen has switched from Cupra to Honda for the 2025 TCR Denmark season with his family-run team Markussen Racing.

“We started last year with a brand new car, but the challenge of making it competitive on the Danish tracks was greater than initially thought,” said Markussen.

“Now we have a car that has already proven its worth, and access to a huge chamber of specific knowledge that means we don’t have to reinvent the wheel ourselves. I think that will make a world of difference.”

The Dane finished fourth overall last year and he is preparing for the upcoming season by taking part in this weekend’s TCR Spain season opener.

“It is definitely an investment to get off to a good start at home in Denmark,” said Markussen.

“I know the track in Barcelona quite well from my seasons in the Le Mans Cup, and even though it is a bit far from the Danish tracks, we can get a feel for how the car works. It will be important experiences to take home.”
