Hankook becomes TCR South America tyre supplier

Hankook is to take over as official tyre supplier to the TCR South America series from the start of the new season.

The series has utilised Kumho tyres since being launched back in 2021 but will now make the switch ahead of the new campaign as part of a wider partnership between the South Korean firm and series promoters Vicar.

Hankook already provides tyres for the Stock Car Pro Series, Stock Light and Formula 4 Brazil, all of which are looked after by Vicar.

TCR Brazil and the Turismo Nacional series join TCR South America in now being added to that line-up.

“We are very pleased to now be able to count on the technology of a specialist like Hankook in our categories,” Vicar CEO Lincoln Oliveira said.

“Tyres are an extremely important element in motorsport, not only for the superior performance that competitions demand, but also in terms of safety and reliability.

“It gives us great peace of mind to know that all of the more than 120 racing cars in our championship portfolio will have cutting-edge technology in all aspects.”
