German Trophy launched for TCR competitors

German drivers and teams competing in TCR competition will be able to do battle for a new award after WSC announced the launch of the new TCR Germany Trophy.

The trophy will be open to drivers of German nationality, as well as those who are driving for teams that are operating under a licence handed out by the German Motorsport Authority.

Four events are valid towards the new award.

“There are several TCR cars in Germany and we felt it was time to spur competitors to use them,” WSC president Marcello Lotti said.

“This new Trophy offers German drivers and teams the opportunity to race in proper TCR competitions and we are confident it could lead to the revival of the TCR Germany Championship.”

6/8 June – Hockenheim (TCR Europe)

22/22 June – Monza (TCR World Tour)

25/27 July – Most (TCR Eastern Europe)

5/7 September – Red Bull Ring (TCR Europe)
