Vallelunga to host first TCR World Ranking Final

The inaugural FIA TCR World Ranking Final will take place at Vallelunga after an end-of-season date was ratified by the World Motor Sport Council.

The event will run from 21-23 November, a week after the TCR World Tour season draws to a close in Macau.

Drivers who have qualified via the TCR World Ranking system will be invited to attend, although revisions to the original qualifying format means full-time TCR World Tour competitors are not eligible to compete regardless of ranking.

“We are delighted that the World Motor Sport Council has approved the introduction of the FIA TCR World Ranking Final that will be held every other year in alternance with the FIA Motorsport Games,” WSC president Marcello Lotti said.

“It is very appropriate that its inaugural edition will be hosted by Vallelunga, which is an iconic racetrack for touring car competition. The participation in the Final is set to become the ultimate goal for the many competitors who race in the TCR series all around the world.”

Details of the format for the inaugural event will be revealed in the near future.
