TCR Australia announces new rights holder

TCR Australia has announced a new entity headed by David Sonenscher to take over management of the series effective immediately.

“I am proud to have the opportunity to manage TCR Australia, a series I have long regarded as one of the most competitive and professional of all TCR competitions throughout the world,” said Sonenscher.

“The series is taking a new direction in 2025 on many fronts, and I am committed to working with the existing series management, the partners and suppliers who make the series happen, and of course, the TCR Australia teams to take the series further.”

Sonenscher has founded Motorsport Asia which is currently running TCR Asia and functions as advisor to TCR UK.

The new entity takes over from the Australian Racing Group (ARG) which has operated TCR Australia since its foundation in 2019.

The five-race 2025 TCR Australia calendar was announced in December but there are so far no confirmed entry for the season which starts on April 11-13 in New Zealand during the ITM Taupō Super 440 together with the Supercars Championship.
