Callum Newsham set for TCR UK return
Callum Newsham will return to the TCR UK series in 2025 after announcing plans to remain with JH Racing for a third season.
Having made his debut in the series back in 2022 with Power Maxed Racing, Newsham joined forces with JH Racing ahead of the 2023 campaign, when he also swapped his Cupra TCR for a Hyundai i30 N TCR.
After a ninth place championship finish, Newsham emerged as a championship contender this year, picking up six victories en-route to third in the standings behind Carl Boardley and Brad Hutchison.
“Looking back at the season, Callum, JH Racing and our aging Hyundai i30N have all performed brilliantly, and all got better as the season progressed – so why change a winning formula?” Newsham’s father, and former BTCC race winner Dave, said.
“Therefore we will be back in TCR UK for the 2025 season which will include a round supporting TCR Europe at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. Running with the same car and team, yes that winning formula…”
Newsham will join Finn Leslie on the grid after he became the first person to sign up with Power Maxed Racing as part of the new Junior Touring Car programme.
Leslie steps up into the series at the wheel of a Hyundai having been a front-runners in BRSCC Fiesta Juniors in 2024, where he secured the MK7 title.
“I believe TCR UK is the perfect place for me in 2025,” he said. “I think the championship is the right stepping stone for me to start my touring car career and will push me to move forward in the future.”
