Aiden Moffat joins West Surrey Racing to race LKQ Euro Car Parts BMW
Aiden Moffat will join West Surrey Racing for the 2025 British Touring Car Championship season, driving a BMW 330i M Sport under the LKQ Euro Car Parts banner.
The Scotsman was widely expected to make the move to the multiple champions following formal confirmation of LKQ Euro Car Parts’ recent tie-up with the Sunbury-based squad.
Moffat makes the move to manufacturer-backed squad off the back of a rollercoaster 2024 campaign which saw him make a triumphant return to the top step of the podium with Toyota at the Donington Park season-opener.
After spending the past two years in front-wheel drive machinery, the XX-year-old will now return to rear-wheel drive – having piloted the Infiniti Q50 for more than two seasons.
“I am thrilled to be continuing my partnership with LKQ Euro Car Parts, they have been amazingly supportive since we came together,” said Moffat.
“Obviously, the chance to drive for WSR, the most professional team in the paddock, is a dream come true and I can’t wait to be part of their amazing heritage. My goal is a simple one, to win more races.
“I want to have a season where I can be the best driver that I can, with engineering and reliability as a core belief throughout the team”.
Dick Bennetts, WSR Team Principal, added: “We’re very pleased to welcome Aiden to WSR for 2025 as part of our LKQ Euro Car Parts BMW line-up. As one of the few current BTCC drivers to have won races in front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive cars, he should adapt to the BMW quickly and be able to challenge for strong results everywhere.
“It’s also interesting that he had his best BTCC Championship result in a rear-wheel-drive car in 2021. We’ve seen what he’s capable of on the racetrack – including several impressive wins – over the years. Our job now is to give him a car that will allow him to get the best out of himself as often as possible.”
Moffat’s announcements now means that West Surrey Racing have locked in three drivers for the forthcoming 2025 season, with reigning champion Jake Hill and Daryl Deleon already listed.
