TCR Japan likely to close after 2024 season

The 2024 TCR Japan season is likely to be the last of the Japanese series according to Auto Sport Japan, following several seasons with limited number of entries.

The 2024 season was the sixth season of the Japanese series and it saw few entries, with one round just featuring four cars on the grid.

The series launched in 2019 which saw 15 full season entries and the grids have decreased since then as the COVID pandemic hit right after its first season.

The 2024 season finale at Motegi hosted just seven cars.

There is no formal announcement from the series organisation yet, but according to Auto Sport Japan, an internal announcement was made to the participants during the Motegi finale that it would be the last race of the series.
