WSC boss confirms Korea and Macau on 2025 FIA TCR World Tour schedule
WSC president Marcello Lotti has confirmed that South Korea is one of the venues expected to join the FIA TCR World Tour calendar in 2025, alongside a return to Macau for the season finale.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with TouringCarTimes at this weekend’s Macau season-finale, Lotti said a draft calendar for next year has been presented to the FIA and is currently awaiting ratification from the FIA World Motor Sport Council which is next to meet on December 11.
However, Lotti said Korea – as has been speculated for a while – is indeed bound to happen, taking a late-season slot on the calendar.
“We are waiting for the World Council to meet before we announce (officially), but we are changing our strategy a bit next year,” Lotti said to TouringCarTimes.
“We will start in Central America (this is rumoured to be Mexico), then we go back to Europe, and then we will end with four weekends on the Asia (East) side.
”Those will be Australia, Korea, China and Macau will again be the finale.”
Korea’s Inje Speedium was recently announced to feature twice on the TCR Asia calendar next year, in September and October, and one of those dates now look set to share the bill with the FIA TCR World Tour.
The only venue so far officially confirmed for the 2025 World Tour season is the return to Australia, with the championship featuring during The Bend 500 weekend on September 12-14.
