Duŝan Borković hit with grid penalty after Macau qualifying

Duŝan Borković has been hit with a grid penalty after qualifying for the first FIA TCR World Tour race of the season finale weekend in Macau.

The GOAT Racing driver was found to have made contact with Audi driver John Filippi during the first qualifying session.

The stewards handed the Honda driver a three-place grid penalty for the incident which drops him from seventh on the grid to tenth.

The decision read:

“Having heard from the Competitor and the Driver concerned, the Stewards determine that Car #62 pushed Car #127 at T19 in Qualifying 1. The Stewards judge that manoeuvre unnessecary and decide to impose a drop of 3 grid positions for the next race in which the driver will take part. This decision was taken in accordance with Art. 12.3.1 and Art. 12.4.1 f) of the International Sporting Code.”

Hyundai driver Max Hart was handed a five-place grid penalty for overtaking a car when the red flags were out during the first qualifying session, dropping him from 16th to 21st position on the Race 1 grid.
