Korea set to feature on 2025 Asian schedule
TCR Asia is set to run an event in Korea in 2025 as part of an revised calendar for the second season since the series was relaunched.
Having not run since 2022, the Asian series returned this year with a five event schedule including races at Sepang, Buriram and Zhuzhou, with an non-championship invitational event still to come at Macau.
Next season, Inje Speedium will host events in September and October on dates to be confirmed, with rumours suggesting that one of those events will run alongside the TCR World Tour.
It is also expected that the Korean events will include races under lights.
The full calendar is likely to be confirmed in the coming week and will include races in China, Malaysia and Thailand, with the possibility of the series also visiting Indonesia.
“I am extremely happy to be able to finally return to Korea where we have held successful events in the past and we are really looking forward to running at Inje, which is ideally suited to touring cars,” series director David Sonenscher said.
“The circuit combined with the added feature of night races is a very exciting prospect and I am sure that it will provide tremendous races for both our participants and the spectators.
“We are very close to finalising all of the deals for our 2025 season and are trying to release the dates either later this week or next. At the moment we are looking at a six-event Championship with Macau as an invitation event once again.
“We have very good interest for 2025 and we are expecting increased grid sizes now that people understand that TCR Asia is back to stay.”
