D’Alberto withdraws from TCR Australia as grid drops to 11 cars for finale
Tony D’Alberto has elected to withdraw from TCR Australia ahead of this weekend’s season finale which will feature just eleven cars on the grid.
The 2022 champion was involved in an incident with Audi driver Zac Soutar during the previous round at Sydney Motorsport Park and the damage to his Honda is part of his reason to withdraw.
“Our 2024 season has unfortunately come to an early end, due to the vehicle damage sustained at Sydney Motorsport Park,” wrote D’Alberto in a statement.
“I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the past five years in the TCR Australian Series and would like to thank Wall Racing and Honda Australia for their continued support.
“Wishing each of the teams and drivers all the best for the upcoming weekend at Bathurst.”
D’Alberto’s Honda has however been repaired and will be in the hands of Wall Racing team-mate Will Harris in the Bathurst season finale.
Another entry missing from Bathurst is Tufflift Racing driver Glenn Nirwan who will remain in Indonesia with his wife, as the couple are about to become parents.
