Ash Sutton ready for race day fight after qualifying on second row

Ash Sutton has vowed to throw everything he’s got towards the British Touring Car Championship title fight at Brands Hatch tomorrow after qualifying on the second row.

The Alliance Racing driver set the pace in Q1 and Q2 around the Grand Prix circuit but unfortunately saw a pole position worthy lap taken away from him for exceeding track limits in the Quick Six shootout; he did however manage to regroup to clinch third on the grid.

“Qualifying feels a little bit of a missed opportunity,” Sutton admitted. “I think it was the Vauxhall of Aron that exited the pit lane and it just caught me out a little bit; I dropped a wheel over the line at turn one and that ultimately cost us pole.

“We’ve had a good car all day though which is encouraging and to be starting third tomorrow means we’re at the right end of the grid.

“I’ve got nothing to lose; I need all the points I can get so I’m going to be on maximum attack and getting stuck in. Race wins are what I’m after! ”
