Mike Halder fuming after incident: “I think I will switch to another series next year”

Mike Halder saw his title hopes slip away following another incident between him and title rival Kasper Jensen in the second race of the Jyllandsringen TCR Denmark season finale.

Jensen was closing in on leading driver Rene Povlsen when Halder made a late dive into Turn 1, resulting in contact between the two through to Turn 2, with Halder slowing down and later pitting due to suspension damage.

The incident left the German driver fuming and hints at leaving the championship for 2025.

“He [Jensen] is turning in like I’m not there and we touch wheels, bending my steering rod,” said Halder.

“The luck is not on our side. Next year I think I will switch to another series where I can race against the race drivers and not the judges.”

The incident meant that Halder dropped down to 35 points behind Jensen ahead of the final race with 32 points remaining.

The two have made contact several times throughout the season and the incident between the two during the previous race weekend is yet to be decided by the stewards following a protest filed by Jensen’s team Mascot Motorsport.
