Nicolas Taylor claims TCR Italy pole position at Vallelunga

Nicolas Taylor of PMA Motorsport claimed the pole position at Vallelunga, host of the fifth round of the 2024 TCR Italy series.

The session was red-flagged after ten minutes as Marco Pellegrini (Honda Civic FL5 from MM Motorsport) went off.

The session resumed with a heated battle for the top spot between Paolo Rocca (Honda Civic FL5 from ALM Motorsport), his team-mate Ruben Volt and Taylor.

The session was halted with a second red flag with three minutes to go as Taylor stopped his Audi at the pit entry.

The session was restarted with just enough time to complete one flying lap. Taylor managed to keep the pole position with a lap time of 1:39.537, followed by Rocca, 0.047 seconds behind. Volt was third, 0.128 seconds adrift.

Nicola Baldan (Audi RS 3 LMS) qualified in fourth place ahead of Junesung Park (Hyundai Elantra N TCR), 0.280 seconds off the pace. His Solite Indigo Racing team-mate Junui Park followed in sixth, just 0.013 seconds slower.

Levente Losonczy (Honda Civic FL5) finished in seventh place, three-tenths off the pace, with Matteo Poloni (Audi RS 3 LMS) right behind. Gabriele Covini (Hyundai Elantra N) and Luigi Fazzino (Audi RS 3 LMS), completed the top ten.

The TCR field returns to the track at 14:40 CEST for Race 1.
