Mike Halder claims Padborg Park pole position

Mike Halder claimed pole position for the first TCR Denmark race at Padborg Park while main title rival Kasper Jensen could only manage fourth place.

The TPR Motorsport driver lapped the Danish circuit in 1:01.312 to beat Cupra driver Michael Markussen by 0.139 seconds.

René Povlsen (Honda) was third fastest, two tenths from pole, while reigning champion Jensen was fourth, close to four tenths from pole.

Jensen’s team-mate Gustav Birch claimed fifth on the grid ahead of Jacob Wunderov, Philip Lindberg and Kim König.

Swedish drivers Jonathan Engström and Anton Bergström finished ninth and tenth, 1.4 and 2.1 seconds from pole respectively.

The first race of the weekend starts at 13:35 CEST on Saturday.
