Malte Ebdrup out of remaining TCR Denmark season after Ring Djursland crash
Mascot Motorsport has confirmed that Malte Ebdrup will not be back for the remaining two TCR Denmark races following his crash during warm up for the Ring Djursland round.
“It’s almost unbearable that I won’t be driving in the last two races, but there’s no point in lining up without a car that’s 100% ready. Right now I’m mega disappointed, but I have to use as motivation over the winter,” said Ebdrup.
The team has chased a replacement car for the Honda Civic Type R FK7 TCR which was written off following the violent crash, but not succeeded in finding a viable solution.
“This is motorsport at its worst. Malte was absolutely not to blame for the accident, but it costs him the rest of the season,” said team manager Henrik Lundgaard.
“We have tried hard to find a new car, but our requirements for the car’s competitiveness and preparation cannot be met before the next race. As far as Malte is concerned, we are now focusing on the 2025 season, when he will return at full strength.”
