Franco Girolami stripped of Brno Race 2 podium

Franco Girolami has been stripped of his third-place finish in the second TCR Europe race of the weekend at Brno following a post-race penalty.

The Monlau Motorsport driver was handed a five-second penalty for overtaking behind the safety car at the end of the first lap following the incident between Petr Čížek and Žarko Knego.

The penalty drops Girolami from third to ninth and behind title rival Aurélien Comte, while Lynk & Co driver Viktor Andersson inherits third.

The updated points standings has Girolami still in the lead, but now just five points ahead of Comte ahead of the Valencia season finale.
