Matteo Poloni beats Ruben Volt to Imola pole position

Audi driver Matteo Poloni was fastest of all in TCR Italy qualifying at Imola, beating Honda driver Ruben Volt by close to three tenths of a second.

And it was a spread out field in the result, with Jacopo Cimenes (Honda) qualifying third, just over eight tenths of a second slower than Poloni.

Canadian driver Nicolas Taylor was fourth for PMA Motorsport, just below nine tenths from pole, with the top Hyundai driver in the form of Alex Ley in fifth place.

Junesung Park was the first driver outside of one second from pole in sixth place ahead of points leader Nicola Baldan (Audi) and Gabriele Covini (Hyundai).

The first race of the weekend starts at 11:55 CEST.
