Adam Shepherd beats Carl Boardley by two hundredths to Silverstone pole

Adam Shepherd beat Carl Boardley by just 0.020 seconds in qualifying for the first TCR UK race of the weekend at Silverstone National.

The qualifying session was dominated by the Cupra drivers, occupying the top four places.

Shepherd set a fastest lap of 57.912, with Boardley second and Brad Hutchison third, 0.353 seconds adrift.

Steven Laidlaw was fourth fastest for Area Motorsport, 0.378 seconds from pole, while Callum Newsham was fastest of the non-Cupra drivers in fifth behind the wheel of his Hyundai i30 N TCR.

Luke Sargeant (Audi) occupied position six, eight tenths from pole, with the Hyundai duo of Darron Lewis and Sam Laidlaw rounding off the top eight.

The first race of the weekend starts at 16:50 local time/17:50 CEST.
