Dan Rowbottom dips under Knockhill lap record in second practice
Dan Rowbottom upped the ante in British Touring Car Championship second practice as he dipped under the Knockhill qualifying lap record to claim bragging rights.
Hot on the heels of setting the pace in the morning’s earlier session, the Alliance Racing went even faster around the undulating 1.27-mile circuit as he set a best time of 51.120.
Joining Rowbottom at the summit was reigning champion Ash Sutton while Andrew Watson showcased Speedworks Motorsport’s encouraging pace by clinching third in his Toyota Corolla GR Sport.
Championship leader Tom Ingram posted the fourth fastest time with Power Maxed Racing’s Aron Taylor-Smith completing the top five in his Vauxhall Astra.
Four-time champion Colin Turkington was once again the lead West Surrey Racing BMW in sixth ahead of Aiden Moffat, Chris Smiley, Rob Huff and Josh Cook, who all rounded out the top ten.
