Steve Laidlaw makes Area Motorsport switch

Steve Laidlaw will switch to Area Motorsport for the TCR UK round at Croft this weekend, driving a Cupra León Competición.

The Brit has driven a Hyundai for Capture Motorsport earlier this season, having finished three times in the top ten.

“Area Motorsport are a known force in TCR UK, with their success in the championship very clear. To be able to drive for Rob Baker in one of the newer generation Cupra Leon Competición models is a great chance for me to progress further up the grid,” said Laidlaw.

“I’ve already made progress in the Hyundai in the last two events and I’m very grateful to Capture Motorsport for their support. I look forward to getting to grips with the CUPRA and pushing myself further forward.”

Steve Laidlaw’s son Sam Laidlaw will join the TCR UK field this weekend, racing the Hyundai Steve previously raced this year for Capture Motorsport.
