Sam Laidlaw joins father Steve on TCR UK grid

Sam Laidlaw will join the TCR UK field at Croft for his series debut, lining up on the grid alongside father Steve.

Laidlaw Jr will be at the wheel of a Hyundai i30 N TCR run by the Capture Motorsport team in the first instance of a father and son racing together in the series.

The 22-year-old has been competing in the Audi TT Racing Cup this season, and will be sampling TCR machinery for the first time.

“Having enjoyed my time in the Audi TT Cup Racing Championship, when the chance came to drive a TCR car, I couldn’t turn it down,” he said. “I’ve kept my eye on TCR UK this year and I’m really excited to get involved in the championship.

“The racing is close and exciting and it is great seeing touring cars going head to head at the circuits we have visited already. I’m very grateful to Capture Motorsport for giving me the chance to take part in the championship next weekend.”
