Cupra duo join Spa grid

Two additional Cupra Leon VZ TCR models will join the grid for the latest rounds of the TCR Europe season this weekend at Spa.

Jimmy Clairet, a race winner in the series in the past with his own team, will join forces with Nicola Baldan in the Baldan Group by Comtoyou line-up as he makes his return, whilst Eric Gené will also be in action.

Gené, son of Cupra Racing development driver Jordi, will race a third car run by Spanish team Monlau Motorsport alongside title hopeful Franco Girolami and Viktor Davidovski on what will be his TCR Europe debut.

Girolami sits second in the standings heading for Belgium but is just one point behind fellow Cupra racer Aurélien Comte.

Honda duo Ignacio Montenegro and Ruben Volt are the closest rivals in the standings as they attempt to at least split the Cupra pairing at the top.
