Tobias Brink: “We have completely maxed this weekend”

Tobias Brink snatched the STCC points lead after scoring maximum out of the Ljungbyhed weekend, claiming two poles and two victories.

“It’s been a cracking weekend, we have completely maxed out the points,” said Brink.

“It was two really demanding races and I just tried to focus on my race while it looked chaotic in the rear view mirror. It’s always great to deliver on home soil, the team has delivered and we have a very fast car right now.”

The Tesla driver heads main rival and Cupra driver Robert Dahlgren by just two points after Ljungbyhed.

Reigning champion Dahlgren meanwhile had a mixed weekend, lacking pace in qualifying compared to Brink, claimed a podium finish in the first race while the second race was about salvaging points following a start crash.

“The first race was really fun with a lot of contact and a nice podium,” said Dahlgren.

“The second race was really messy, I pressed push-to-pass at the start and aimed for the outside of Tobias Brink into the first corner. But I was hit from behind, after that it was all about salvaging points. We would have liked more points with us from Ljungbyhed, but based on where we were after the pre-season tests, this was an okay result.”

STCC continues on August 24 on the streets of Helsingborg, Sweden.
