Injury forces Viktor Gustavsson to sit out Ljungbyhed race

Viktor Gustavsson will not take part in this weekend’s STCC races at Ljungbyhed due to a broken rib sustained in a crash during a karting event in Italy last weekend.

“Unfortunately, there will be no STCC for me in Ljungbyhed after the crash last weekend and I do not feel well yet. It’s a real shame, but I’ll be back for the next race,” said Gustavsson.

The 20-year-old is placed eighth overall after the Gothenburg season opener and Exion Racing has confirmed that they will not have a replacement driver for him this weekend.

“We wish Viktor a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back for the next STCC race,” saiod Kevin Engman, team manager of Exion Racing.

“Unfortunately, it was too short time for us to solve a reserve driver after receiving the news that his injury prevents him from racing this weekend. But we still have a strong line-up this weekend and we have our sights set on securing new podiums in Ljungbyhed.”
