Dan Rowbottom ups the ante in second practice at Oulton Park

Dan Rowbottom turned the wick in the second British Touring Car Championship practice of the day at Oulton Park, dipping under the current lap record that was set in qualifying last year.

The Alliance Racing driver surged to the top of the times in the final five minutes of the session, with his time of 1:24.536 bettering Ash Sutton’s lap that put him on pole position 12 months ago.

Finishing within a tenth of the Ford Focus ST driver was the EXCELR8 Motorsport Hyundai i30 N of Tom Ingram while Power Maxed Racing’s Aron Taylor-Smith continued his impressive form from the day’s earlier session to net third.

Tom Chilton made it two Hyundais inside top four while reigning champion Sutton and Dan Cammish underlined the pace of the Alliance Ford’s by clinching fifth and sixth respectively.
