Ola Nilsson claims first electric STCC pole position in Gothenburg

Volkswagen driver Ola Nilsson claimed the first pole position of the new electric STCC era in qualifying for the first Head 2 Head heat of the weekend in Gothenburg.

The Exion Racing driver lapped the 625 metre Head 2 Head circuit in 37.310 to beat four-time STCC champion Robert Dahlgren by a mere 78 thousands of a second in very wet conditions.

Anton Marklund made it two PWR Racing Cupras in the top three, 0.141 seconds from pole position.

The Brink Motorsport Tesla trio of Mikael Karlsson, Jimmy Eriksson and Tobias Brink claimed positions four, five and six, trailing the top time by 0.185, 0.240 and 0.512 seconds respectively.

Exion Racing Volkswagen team-mates Alexander Graff and Viktor Gustavsson were seventh and eighth, while Calle Bergman (BMW) and Lukas Sundahl (BMW) rounded off the top ten.

The first part of the Head 2 Head ladder starts at 15:00 CEST but the STCC organisation has warned about potential delays due to heavy rainfall.
