Trio to miss Snetterton weekend

Three drivers who competed in the opening rounds of the new TCR UK Championship season at Brands Hatch will be missing when the season resumes this weekend at Snetterton.

A reduced field is therefore set to contest the three races in Norfolk, with 13 cars expected to line up on the grid, led by points leader Callum Newsham.

Viktor Andersson is the highest placed absentee after his race-winning performance at Brands Hatch in the Pro Alloys Racing Link & Co, with his focus turning back to his planned programme in TCR Europe.

Ryan Bensley will also not make his series debut this weekend as the team continues to work on readying his car for competition.

Also missing from those who appeared at round one are Sport77 duo Will Powell and Bradley Thurston, with Powell missing out due to a clashing medical procedure and Thurston set to rejoin the grid at Oulton Park having switched from the Audi he raced at Brands Hatch into a Honda.

Cedric Bloch had hoped to debut in his Simon Green Motorsport with Sport77 Audi RS 3 LMS but delays with the hand controls he requires mean the car will not appear until at least Oulton Park.

There is one new addition to the grid however, with Stephen Laidlaw in a Hyundai i30 N TCR run by Capture Motorsport
