Colin Turkington doubles up at Brands Hatch
Colin Turkington made it two wins from two races in the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch as he produced another flawless drive.
As he did in race one, the Team BMW driver converted pole position into a comfortable lights-to-flag victory, despite having to contend with a late safety car period following an off for his rear-wheel-drive stablemate Jake Hill.
While Turkington enjoyed a trouble-free run to the chequered flag, the battle behind for second place had everyone on the edge of their seats as Hill, Ash Sutton, Josh Cook and Tom Ingram traded paint and positions across a number of laps.
Hill initially held the position after a feisty move on Cook however a fine overtake from Sutton soon opened the door for others and the BMW driver tumbled down the order. Damage later on would see Hill go straight on at Druids.
Once in second, reigning champion Sutton had to contend with a charging Ingram who, with a handful of laps remaining the Hyundai driver made a late move down the inside at Paddock Hill Bend to snatch the position.
Behind the top three, Adam Morgan charged up the order to finish fourth with Dan Rowbottom completing the top five. Rounding out the top ten was Tom Chilton, Dan Cammish, Aiden Moffat, Mikey Doble and Aron Taylor-Smith.
Further down the order there was strife for the Toyotas of Cook and Rob Huff as they were both forced into the pit lane due to damage.
The third and final race of the weekend is scheduled to begin at 17:15.
