Yann Ehrlacher gets grid penalty for incident with Norbert Michelisz
Yann Ehrlacher has been handed a grid penalty for his incident with Norbert Michelisz in the start of the second FIA TCR World Tour race in Morocco.
The Frenchman made contact with the Hyundai driver at Turn 1, resulting in Michelisz sustaining bodywork damage and dropped positions.
The stewards handed Ehrlacher a three-place grid drop for the next race at Mid-Ohio and a penalty point, issuing the following reasoning:
“The Stewards after having examined the matter extensively determine that the driver of car 168 is responsible for the collision by pushing car 105 at T1 and made the car to slide and lose positions, so the Steward decide that the above penalty is appropriate.”
