Karlsson joins Eriksson and Brink at Brink Motorsport

Mikael Karlsson completes Brink Motorsport’s three-car Tesla line-up for the 2024 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season.

“It will be a really exciting challenge to make an STCC comeback at the same time as the championship goes electric,” said Mikael Karlsson.

“Our programme is made possible partly by our partner Allson Kyl & Fryslager and our motto for 20 years has been that ‘the one who walks in the footsteps of others never comes first’, something that fits very well with the new STCC era. I hope and believe that we together can fight for the top positions this year.”

The 51-year-old, who last raced in the 2021 STCC season for Lestrup Racing, joins team-mates Tobias Brink and Jimmy Eriksson.

“It’s great to be able to confirm our driver line-up for the 2024 STCC season,” said Ted Brink, team principal.

“We welcome Micke to the team alongside Tobias and Jimmy. With him in place, we can put full focus on the championship title fight. We will have a very strong driver line-up and it will be really interesting to put them behind the wheel during this weekend’s first STCC tests.”
