19 cars entered for 2024 TCR UK opener at Brands Hatch
19 cars will feature on the first TCR UK round of the 2024 season, taking place at Brands Hatch this weekend.
Heading this year’s list is reigning champion Carl Boardley who will continue to race a Cupra for Hart GT with CBM.
Adam Shepherd, who finished fifth overall in 2023, is back for 2024 and has switched from a Hyundai i30 N TCR to a second generation Cupra.
New to the championship is team 77 Sport, entering three cars for former BTCC driver and team owner Will Powell, Alex Jones and Cedric Bloch.
It should be noted that two of their entries, Powell and Cedrich Bloch, are not on the entry list issued by the BRSCC for the race weekend due to delays in the entry process.
Other notable entries include Swedish youngster Viktor Andersson, with the Lynk & Co driver set for a one-off appearance at Brands with Pro Alloys Racing, and Hyundai driver Callum Newsham who finished ninth overall last year.
Last year’s second, third and fourth placed drivers Alex Ley, Jenson Brickley and Jac Constable are gone for this year.
The list is down five cars compared to last year’s opener at Snetterton which featured 24 cars.
The weekend starts with qualifying and the first race on Saturday, followed by Race 2 and 3 on Sunday.
