Dusan Borkovic secures TCR Europe seat with GOAT
Dusan Borkovic will return to the TCR Europe grid this season after inking a deal to join the new GOAT Racing team.
The Serbian racer will be at the wheel of an FL5-spec Honda Civic Type R as he rejoins the grid, having bowed out of the 2023 season mid-way through when his Target Competition team withdrew from the series after arguments over Balance of Performance.
“I am very happy that I received an invitation from GOAT Racing team and JAS motorsport this year to drive in TCR Europe,” Borkovic said. “It’s always a pleasure to be back in the TCR family.
“We are ready to face all the challenges that the new season will bring and with the support of my team, represent my country in the best light on such a big world platform.”
Felipe Fernandez Gil will drive a second GOAT Racing car as the team expands beyond the two-car entry already confirmed for the TCR World Tour season.
“I am incredibly excited for the season ahead of us,” team manager Pepe Oriola said. “Our GOAT Racing team has been working tirelessly to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead, and I couldn’t be prouder of the dedication and expertise they bring to the table.
“With Dusan Borkovic behind the wheel, we have a promising combination of skill and determination. Together, we can make a significant impact in TCR Europe. Borkovic’s track record speaks for itself, and I am confident that with his talent and our collective effort, we will achieve outstanding results.”
