Team HARD drops off BTCC entry as TBL holders confirmed
Team HARD’s expected disappearance from the BTCC entry list has been confirmed after the TBL list for the 2024 season was finally revealed, with a new name set to appear on the grid instead next year.
Speculation about the future of the Cupra team has been ongoing for several weeks, and it has now been officially confirmed that it will no longer be part of the grid for the upcoming campaign.
A number of changes have therefore occurred compared to 2023, with Speedworks Motorsport expanding to run a fourth car – having run three this year – whilst TCR UK title-winning outfit Restart Racing will join the grid having secured two licences.
The remaining licences are as they were for 2023, with Aiden Moffat retaining two licences of his own and Carl Boardley also keeping a licence.
A total of 27 licences have been handed out, which also means that there is no return for Team Dynamics after it withdrew from the 2023 season.
“Given the background of potentially having up to six entries affected within just the last three weeks, the quantity and quality of our 2024 entry further underlines the phenomenal strength and resilience of the BTCC,” series boss Alan Gow said.
