Mikey Doble retains Power Maxed Racing seat
Mikey Doble will return to the BTCC for a second season in 2024 after inking a deal to remain with Power Maxed Racing.
The 25-year-old joined the Vauxhall squad this year for his rookie campaign in the series and was a contender for Jack Sears Trophy honours throughout the season.
Doble would score an impressive pole position at Silverstone – the only non-NAPA Racing UK pole of the season – and picked up two Jack Sears Trophy victories as well as an Independents’ class success.
Doble is the second driver to be confirmed with the team alongside Aron Taylor-Smith who has also re-signed for another season.
“I’m excited to be returning for my second season in the BTCC with CarStore Power Maxed Racing,” he said. “After what was an amazing rookie season, we’ve not stopped working since the Brands Hatch finale to ensure I’m back in the seat for 2024.
“The 2023 season was full of memorable moments which included an Independents victory in just my second race and an overall pole position at Silverstone. Those achievements far exceeded my expectations and huge credit must go to the guys and girls at PMR for all of their hard work.”
Doble added that his main goal going into the season was to try and add to his silverware with a focus on an overall victory.
“We’ve been pushing the Vauxhalls back towards the front and I’m confident that we can take the team to a whole new level next year,” he said.
“The aim is to be contending for race wins and podiums – as well as the Jack Sears Trophy and Independent Drivers’ Championship.”
