TCR China qualifying in Macau abandoned following four red flags
The TCR China season finale qualifying in Macau has been abandoned following four lengthy red flag sessions with just six drivers setting lap times in the first Q1 session.
The first red flag came when drivers were about to set their first timed lap as Teamwork Motorsport driver Sunny Wong hit the barriers at Turn 1.
The second red flag came as Chan Chi Wai lost control over his Honda in the mountain section and Chan Chun Leung was unable to avoid him. This red flag session also saw Audi driver Filipe De Souza left stationary on track.
The third red flag came as a sponsor sign came loose at Lisboa with seven minutes left of the session.
The fourth and final red flag came with just over one minute left of the session as Lin Chenghua hit the barriers.
The only drivers to set lap times during the session was Jack Young, Martin Cao, Yan Cheuk Wai, André Couto, He Xiaole and Xie Xinzhe.
The TCR China organisation is yet to announced how the Race 1 grid will be formed.
UPDATE: No qualifying points will be awarded and the grid order will be formed after the combined best times of free practice one and two.
