Mikel Azcona penalised for impeding Rob Huff during Macau qualifying

Hyundai driver Mikel Azcona has been penalised for impeding Audi’s Rob Huff during TCR World Touring qualifying on the streets of Macau.

The incident happened at Turn 19 on the last lap of the Q2 session when Azcona was heading back to the pits and Huff was on a quick lap.

Azcona ended the session in second place while Huff finished a disappointed fifth.

The penalty drops Azcona to fifth place on the grid, elevating title contender Yann Ehrlacher to second, Honda driver Néstor Girolami to third and Huff to fourth.

The first race of the weekend starts at 12:45 local time/05:45 CET on Saturday.
