Cupra confirms continued TCR customer support with new Leon VZ TCR in 2024
Cupra has confirmed homologation of a new version of their Leon Competición TCR, with the arrival of the new Leon VZ TCR in 2024.
“Cupra has the ambition to push boundaries and electrify the automotive world and, at CUPRA we continue 100% committed to electrification,” said Xavi Serra, head of Cupra Racing, to TouringCarTimes.
“For this reason, the brand only officially participates in electric competitions.
“However, we continue giving support to all the private and customer teams, as we have always done in the past. This means that we also adapt the design of our vehicles to the current design language or customer racing.
“Following this idea, we have decided to launch a new touring racing car, the Cupra Leon VZ TCR, for the 2024 season.”
The new model includes new bodywork, a redesigned front-suspension and a redesigned brake pedal box.
The Leon VZ TCR will also feature a SADEV gearbox upgrade kit, an improved driver display, a open top steering wheel and optional Öhlins dampers.
The Spanish manufacturer also stated that they will offer customers with the first version of the Cupra Leon Competición TCR the possibility of upgrading it to the new specifications. The booking process will be opened on the 9th of November through the authorised partners.
