Will Brown labels TCR World Tour debut win “phenomenal”

Will Brown defied treacherous conditions to win TCR World Tour and TCR Australia Race 1 at Sydney Motorsport Park.

And the Melbourne Performance Centre driver labeled his first TCR World Tour win “phenomenal”.

“It’s cool! Before the weekend we didn’t know how we could do before the World Tour guys, so to win the race is phenomenal,” said Brown.

“We had everything: dry, wet, slippery. It was crazy, as conditions changed every second and I made a mistake at the restart after the safety car. Luckily there was the red flag and in the second part of the race I was able to build a gap and be in control.”

Brown’s mistake after the first safety car restart saw Hyundai’s Mikel Azcona taking over the lead, but only for a brief while before the race was red flagged and the order restored to before the restart.

The Audi driver took control after the second restart and won the race by close to seven seconds.
