Thed Björk on top again in final Sydney practice
Thed Björk continued on top in the second and final free practice session of the TCR World Tour and TCR Australia weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park, heading team-mate Santiago Urrutia.
The Swede lowered his best time to 1:34.7565, a time which is still some way off from last year’s TCR Australia pole time of 1:32.6286 (Josh Buchan).
Urrutia was 0.1160 seconds behind in second, with Hyundai driver Mikel Azcona in third, 0.1936 seconds off.
Wall Racing driver Tony D’Alberto (Honda) was fastest of the TCR Australia drivers in this session, three tenths from Björk’s time.
Frédéric Vervisch was the top Audi driver in fifth place for Comtoyou Racing ahead of Ma Qing Hua (Lynk & Co) and Will Brown (Audi). GRM Peugeot driver Ben Bargwanna rounded off the top eight.
Fellow Peugeot 308TCR driver Kody Garland was missing from this session following his high-speed off at Turn 1 in the first free practice session, with the Garry Rogers Motorsport team currently assessing the damage.
Next up is qualifying, starting at 18:00 local time/08:00 CET.
