New TCR World Tour entries for Macau season finale as entry lists are released

The TCR World Tour field will grow for the Macau Guia season finale with the addition of both new and returning entries as the provisional entry lists have been released.

A total of three different touring car classes will run over two weekends at Macau, with the TCR Asia Challenge running one week prior to the main 70th Macau Grand Prix weekend on November 17-19, which will feature the TCR World Tour and TCR China.

Eight drivers from the TCR Asia Challenge will then qualify for the Guia Race a week later.

Comtoyou Racing drivers Tom Coronel, who secured the TCR Europe title last weekend, and John Filippi are back after appearances in the joint TCR Europe races earlier this year, as is TCR Australia regular Ben Bargwanna.

New to the TCR World Tour at Macau will be experienced touring car racers Pepe Oriola and Niels Langeveld who are yet to be confirmed regarding team and car.

A third Hyundai is also on the entry list from BRC Hyundai, albeit with no official information on the identity as of yet.

The last time the Macau Guia Race featured a fully international entry list was prior to the pandemic in 2019 with the FIA World Touring Car Cup, featuring a 32-car grid with Yvan Muller winning the first two races and Andy Priaulx the last.

The TCR Asia Challenge race will be held the weekend before the Grand Prix weekend, November 11-12, featuring a field of 25 cars with drivers from China, Hong Kong, Macau and Malaysia.

The top eight drivers will qualify from this race to the Guia Race for a potential grid of 25 cars.
