Bobby Thompson rejoins BTCC grid for final rounds

Bobby Thompson will make a return to the BTCC grid for the final two rounds of the season after Team HARD confirmed he will be back behind the wheel of a Cupra Leon at both Silverstone and Brands Hatch.

Thompson split with the team back in July and was replaced by Michael Crees, although the team then found itself on the hunt for another driver after the departure of Nicolas Hamilton.

Whilst Rob Huff stepped in at Knockhill, the team was forced to park the car for the Donington Park meeting and has now drafted Thompson back in to complete the season.

“Bobby’s commitment to Team HARD Racing has been inspiring, and we have sorely missed his valuable contribution off-track since the summer break,” team boss Tony Gilham said. “We are delighted to have him back and believe that this reunion will propel us to even greater heights as we look to put the events of Donington behind us.

“I also can’t thank everyone who is continuing to support us enough. It has been a really challenging season off-track with some seriously bad luck on it. So, a big thank you to our partners, staff and supporters for their continued support.”
