Brad Harris claims maiden TCR Australia win in Race 2 at Queensland Raceway
Brad Harris withstood pressure to claim his maiden TCR Australia win in the second race of the weekend at Queensland Raceway, beating Peugeot driver Aaron Cameron by just below half a second.
Honda driver Harris started from the reversed grid pole, but it was Cupra driver Michael Clemente who made the best start to claim the lead into Turn 1.
But Harris soon challenged back for the lead and managed to get back past Clemente with some contact.
Carl Cox Motorsport driver Celemente then came under fire from Garry Rogers Motorsport’s Cameron, slipping back yet another position, again with wheel banging on the main straight.
Next up to attack Clemente was race one winner Will Brown who made his way past to claim the final podium position while Clemente had to settle for fourth, dropping further back to finish nine seconds behind the race winner.
And Harris drove a strong race to claim victory ahead of Cameron and Brown, who closed in quickly on Cameron right at the end of the race.
Jordan Cox finished fifth ahead of Hyundai driver Josh Buchan and Wall Racing driver Tony D’Alberto in seventh, while Ben Barwanna rounded off the top eight.
The third and final race of the weekend starts at 16:20 local time/08:20 CEST.
