Will Brown beats Bailey Sweeny to Queensland Raceway pole
Will Brown continued his strong form from practice to claim pole position for the first TCR Australia race of the weekend at Queensland Raceway.
The Audi RS 3 LMS Gen II driver lapped the circuit in 1:17.7221, beating Hyundai driver Bailey Sweeny by 0.1721 seconds.
Wall Racing driver Tony D’Alberto put his Honda Civic in third spot of the grid, close to three tenths from pole.
Tim Slade, who stands in for Tom Oliphant this weekend, was third fastest for Ashley Seward Motorsport behind the wheel of his Lynk & Co 03 TCR, while Peugeot driver Jordan Cox made it five different manufacturers in the top five.
Cox’s team-mate Ben Bargwanna rounded off the top six, 0.4347 seconds from Brown’s time.
The first race of the weekend starts at 16:15 local time/08:15 CEST.
