Mike Halder wins Falkenberg reverse-grid race

TPR Motorsport’s Mike Halder scored his first win of the 2023 TCR Denmark campaign with victory in the reverse-grid second race at Falkenberg.

Halder came through from third on the grid aboard his Audi RS 3 LMS, snatching the lead on the opening lap as front-row man Kevin Brandsborg stalled at the start and pole-sitter Philip Lindberg slipped to fourth.

Lindberg then retired just a lap later after making contact with Marius Solberg Hansen at Turn 1.

Auto Lounge Racing pair Kevin Engman and Jan Magnussen completed the podium, driving an Audi and Cupra respectively. Green Development driver Nicolai Sylvest was fourth in another Cupra.

Behind the top quartet, battles were raging on aplenty, mainly revolving around a scrap for positions five through ten.

Michael Markussen eventually came out on top of that, with Solberg Hansen picking up a time penalty for track limits that left him sixth.

GMB Motorsport Honda pair Gustav Birch and Race 1 winner Kasper Jensen completed the top eight.

The concluding Race 3 of the weekend takes place imminently, at 15:15 CEST.
